Some Notes About Brussels, Belgium

  • There is chocolate EVERYWHERE
  • The cobblestone sidewalks/roads are more deadly than any I've encountered in England
  • All children under 16 are dressed as boyscouts/girlscouts on weekends (and possibly every day)
  • The city is both amazingly beautiful and horribly ugly at the same time
  • Waffles are a way of life
  • If you don't have a map, you're fucked. There are no straight streets.
  • Hot showers after a day of exploring are imperative
  • The 2 and 4 lines of the metro need some serious renovations (train cars and stops)
  • Finding hair mousse is harder than one would think
  • The city's languages are French and Flemish yet everyone speaks English

  2. I have been to Brussels before, and I totally agree with everything. I would also like to add to your list the fact that it is SO COLD ALL THE TIME. Or maybe that's just me?

    Love this blog :)
