Last Weekend at Hib

Last weekend I went back to Skydive Hibaldstow for my 2nd and 3rd jumps. I was very nervous again for my second jump but a lot less than the first time because I knew what to expect. My third jump just felt so natural and I was nervous (still) but way less. I had gotten one-on-one coaching after my second jump and was feeling pretty confident. I am no longer afraid of jumping out the plane -that's the fun part!! Canopy control and landing is what makes me nervous. I'm not the greatest at either. I freeze up in when I'm floating in the sky and I completely rely on the person that's talking to me through the radio (which you're not supposed to do, completely, incase it cuts out).

My third jump was my best and also my worst. I had an amazing plane exit and was bumped up to the next category of earning my skydiving license. But when I landed, I stumbled backwards, fell, and severely sprained the ligaments in my right wrist! I knew something was wrong as I stood up and just kind of grabbed my wrist and let out one of those slow, annoyed "fuckkkkk"'s. But I sucked it up, gathered up my canopy, and walked over to the bus where I was complimented on my excellent exit by all of the experienced formation skydivers who I shared a plane with. It was one of my most proud moments ever! When a large bump formed on my wrist and I had to admit I needed to go to the hospital, not so proud anymore haha.

So I was taken to the Scunthorpe hospital (holla Tinie Tempah fans) where I was x-rayed and half diagnosed. They checked me out, put a splint on me, told me they couldn't tell whether the Scaphoid bone in my wrist was fractured or just cracked, and told me to get more x-rays in 7 days. So that's what I did today and guess what! My condition involves neither of the above. I've just hurt the ligaments in my hand horribly. So much so that I can't bend or twist my wrist and I can't hold heavy things, push heavy doors, etc etc, you get the gist. I have some weird lumps on the top of my hand/wrist as well as bruising on the inside where my veins show blue. Very weird but I'm just glad I'll heal relatively fast and be able to get back in the sky again!

Here are some photos from my epic day
SO nervous for my second jump!
 One of my friends landing.
After my second jump, feeling good!
YEAHHH!  I was told by someone that they have never seen a nicer logbook entry. Instructors always have something to tell you you need to improve on.
My first self-bought(3rd) jump ticket and my logbook!
